Position Title: Technical Writer

Location: Vienna/Fairfax, VA

Duration: 6 Months+

Description To support Navy Federal by developing and maintaining technical and non-technical reference materials such as documentation related to:

•           Ticket processes

•           Training material

•           Infrastructure upgrades

•           Data mapping processes

•           Software implementations

•           Requirements   Responsibilities

• Assist Enterprise Data Strategy and Services (EDSS) team by creating and maintaining technical and non-technical documentation such as process flows, mapping diagrams, physical architecture layout, requirements documents, training manuals, etc. • Review documentation to ensure consistency, accuracy, timeliness, and relevance to organization’s initiatives • Ensure clear, concise and effective communication of material • Build and maintain relationships with team members, management, key stakeholders and/or external contacts (vendors, etc.) • Conduct research to prepare, document and maintain reference material • Contribute to learning and curriculum development by providing support in: creating job aids, work flows, specs etc. • Maintain documentation library to ensure inventory of processes and work flows • Provide training to users in the consumption of reference material • Interact with various sub-teams to determine user requirements and specifications • Perform other duties as assigned   Qualifications •           Experience in creating and maintaining technical and non-technical documents such as specs, requirements, workflows, manuals etc. • Ability to compile, organize and present information clearly and concisely • Extensive experience in composing correspondence that adheres to grammar and Navy Federal writing style and standards • Extensive experience in managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals • Extensive experience in researching, compiling, and documenting data, business processes, and workflows • Extensive experience in working and participating in cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams and projects • Significant experience in working with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, vendors • Advanced skill identifying and analyzing business requirements and recommending solutions • Expert skill capturing and translating processes and requirements into easily understood terms • Expert skill following, interpreting and applying relevant data/instructions to guidelines, procedures, practices and regulations • Expert skill researching and analyzing data, processes and trends   Desired – Relevant technical education or equivalent experience Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite and SharePoint Effective database and presentation software skills Experience with Adobe Experience Manager Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
